This is not a government office. We cannot confirm a warrant, remove a record, take payment, post bond, arrange a surrender, or provide legal advice. Use the official contacts below for a decision about a real person or case.
Need Official Warrant Information?
Choose the contact based on the record question. A single office may not be able to answer every part of a case.
- Whether a sheriff-held warrant appears on the local daily report: call the Madison County Sheriff's Office at (402) 454-2110 for nonemergency questions.
- Custody, bond, or jail intake: call the Madison County Jail at (402) 454-1333. The jail line is listed as available around the clock.
- County Court case, traffic matter, misdemeanor, or city-ordinance question: use the Madison County Court route through the courthouse switchboard at (402) 454-3311, then dial 3.
- District Court felony or general-jurisdiction file: use the Clerk of the District Court through the same switchboard, then dial 4.
- How to resolve or challenge a warrant: ask the issuing court about its procedure and consider speaking with a Nebraska attorney before appearing or paying.
Madison County Sheriff's Office
The sheriff's office is the local law-enforcement contact for warrant service and the public daily warrant report. Its online report is posted at madisonsheriffne.gov. The notice says the list is updated daily, but a daily posting is not a guarantee that every court action has reached the page.
For ordinary questions, use (402) 454-2110. Do not use an emergency line to ask a general record question. If the issue concerns someone currently in custody, bond information, or jail processing, the separate jail number is (402) 454-1333.
Madison County Courts
The courthouse is at 1313 N Main St, Madison, Nebraska. The public switchboard is (402) 454-3311. County Court uses extension 3 and District Court uses extension 4. Court offices are generally open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., but call before traveling if the issue concerns a filing, hearing, or payment deadline.
County Court correspondence is directed to P.O. Box 230, Madison, NE 68748. District Court correspondence is directed to P.O. Box 249, Madison, NE 68748. Ask for the clerk's office that matches the case rather than assuming that the sheriff can explain a court order.
What to Have Ready
Officials can route a question more efficiently when you have the person's full legal name, date of birth if appropriate, case number, citation number, court name, and the date of any missed appearance. Tell the clerk whether the matter is traffic, a city ordinance, a misdemeanor, or a felony if you know. Avoid sending sensitive information through an unverified contact form.
A name alone can produce a false match. Conversely, the absence of a name from a public daily page does not prove that a restricted, newly issued, or court-held record does not exist. Ask the official office what the source can confirm and what next step it requires.
Questions for This Website
We can explain how the pages are organized and correct a clearly broken link or factual routing problem. We cannot investigate a person's warrant status, provide a private case search, or communicate with a court or sheriff on a reader's behalf. Messages that include full dates of birth, driver's-license numbers, Social Security numbers, or payment details should not be sent to this site.
